My live classes
I don’t always know what we will be painting on the day, experience has taught me that if I say magnolias then there will be a heavy frost and I will have a breakdown trying to find replacement plants. However, I do try to have a theme and endeavour to deliver beautiful and suitable plant material for the students; and in the absence of good live material I will provide good photographs. We all study the same subject but from different positions or angles, so you can be sure your painting is unique to you.To view and download the classes booking form please click here.
What to bring
Free Tea and coffee and cakes are served in the morning and at lunch but you will need to bring a packed lunch. Please let me know in advance and I can provide gluten free cake.
Bring all your usual paints and brushes, paper can be purchased on the day but I use Fabriano Artistico hot pressed paper if you wish to buy ahead of the class. Any colour you don’t have I can lend you on the day. I sell my brushes at the studio but you may wish to order in advance so as to ensure I have the size of brush you require. Water pots, drawing boards and plant material are all provided but please do bring any other equipment that you feel will make your day more comfortable.
Where to park
There is off road parking at the studio, details of this will be sent upon booking.
Coming by train?
Tunbridge Wells mainline station is the nearest station and taxis to the studio are around £5. A fellow student might drop you back at the station or I will if time allows.
